Welcome Cermony was held for the New President
A Welcome Ceremony was held for the honor of the Ethiopian Federal Democratic Republic’s Fourth President, Dr Mulatu Teshome, at the National Palace. Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and the former President Girma Wolde Giorgis attends the ceremony. Moreover, members of the House of Peoples Representatives, Council of the Federation and ambassadors have also attend the ceremony.
The new president has began his duty as president officially.
Dr Mulatu Teshome Wertu was born in 1949 E.C at Arjo woreda, Eastern Wollega of the Oromia Region. He learnt his primary and secondary schools at Arjo and Addis Ababa. In 1974 E.C he got his Bachelor degree in Political Science and International Relations. He also has a PhD on Political Philosophy. Dr Mulatu has made numerous researches on different fields and he has also been in a teaching post. Moreover, He is well versed in Amharic, Oromiffa, English, Chinese and French Languages.
From 1993 E.C – 1994 E.C he served as Ministry of Agriculture and from 1994 E.C - 1998 E.C he served as speaker of the house in the Council of the Federation and starting from 1998 E.C till now he has been serving as Ambassador in Turkey.
Dr Mulatu is married and has a son.
