Nigeria have psychological edge over Ethiopia, says Victor Agali 

The former national team striker says the Super Eagles do possess an intimidating record against the Walya Antelopes and it could work for them in next week’s game

Former Nigeria striker Victor Agali says that the Super Eagles have a psychological edge over Ethiopia ahead of their October 13 first leg 2014 World Cup play-off in Addis Ababa.
The reigning African champions face a testy duel against the resurgent East Africans as they both chase a ticket to Brazil next summer.
“It is not going to be easy, no doubt about that. For Ethiopia to have reached the final stage of the African qualifiers, it means that they have a good team,” Agali told The Punch.
“But they are no match for the Eagles; we are the current African champions and invariably the best team in Africa. Besides, we have an intimidating record against them.
“When we played them at the Africa Cup of Nations, we beat them 2-0. Though it was a difficult game, but it will give our players a psychological edge,” Agali said.
The hosts have been talking tough ahead of the encounter and the former Hansa Rostock forward says that the Super Eagles need to be have the belief of their countrymen to succeed.
“The coaches and the players need the support of all Nigerians in this crucial period. We must back the team to ensure that we qualify for our fifth World Cup,” he said.
