Ethiopia: CESI Wins Power Project in Ethiopia

(CESI) Middle East, an engineering and power solutions provider, has won
a smart grid and high-voltage, direct current projects in Ethiopia. The
company also awarded similar contract in Kenya.
CESI has been selected by the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) and the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) as the technical consultant for the power system interconnector project betweenEthiopiaandKenya.
The project will be aimed at contributing to the integration of the electricity markets of the East African Power Pool through the interconnection of the two countries' power systems.
The interconnection will increase the supply of power and reduce the cost of electricity inKenya, while generating additional revenues forEthiopiathrough the export of electricity toKenya.
CESI Middle East was set up in 2011 inDubaias a subsidiary company of an Italian based company that provides testing and certification services, energy consultancy, engineering and technology consulting for the electricity sector.
