Ethiopian Stars Headline Doha Track Meet

Ethiopia is poised for top-podium finishes at the upcoming Doha 2013 track meet that takes place on May 10 at the Qatar Sports Club’s Track.
Doha 2013 is the first meet on the Diamond League schedule.
Starting in the 800m is 19-year-old Mohamed Aman, who has the honor of being the only person who has defeated world-record holder David Rudisha since 2009.
In the 3000m, rising superstar Hagos Gebrhiwet will race meet record holder Yenew Alamirew.
Gebrhiwet enjoyed an amazing 2012 season as a junior. He set a world record (12:47:53) and at the age of 18, he made it to the Olympic final in London.
In the women’s 1500m, Genzebe Dibaba will toe the line. The 21-year-old is the younger sister of three-time Olympic champion Tirunesh Dibaba.
Genzebe recently switched from the 5000m to the 1500m; she is the indoor world champion in that middle-distance event, and she holds the national record in it.
