A STATUE FOR EMPEROR HAILE SELASSIE! 

His Excellency Emperor Haile Selassie 1, had played crucial role in financing the Headquarters of the OAU, because of Emperor Haile Selassie, Ethiopia in 1923 was admitted to the League of Nation, the Emperor condemned Italy’s aggression and using of chemical weapons on Ethiopians in the League of Nation, the Emperor’s internationalist views enabled him to become a member of the United Nations, the Emperor condemned apartheid South Africa at the UN, the speech the Emperor and his firm stand of being anti-Fascists around the world made him "Man of the Year" in Time Magazine, the Emperor’s role and struggle in the liberation of many African countries, the Emperor signed OAU’s the charter and Pan-African and won him the name “African Father ”, the Emperor played crucial role in defending Africa countries' sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and independence, the Emperor was the soul and heart of the idea of African Unity and in his fierce fight to eradicate all forms of colonialism from Africa.

So, we, Ethiopians demand the "STAUE of EMPEROR HAILE SELASSIE " to be part of the new building of AU in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Our African brethren and concerned citizens of the world who stand for the true history and fact should participate in this crucial petition. It is very sad that African Union (AU )no longer celebrates Emperor Haile Selassie. Saying that, we can't ignore the contribution of Ketema Yifru, at the time the Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Jomo Kenyata of Kenya, Sekou Toure of Guinea, Julius Kambarage Nyerere and Nkrumah. However, Emperor Haile Selassie had played the most important role in the Organization of African Union (OAU). Let's stand for the fact and history with ONE VOICE! Thank you all.
