Ethiopia: Sudan and Ethiopia Defense Ministers approve outcome of technical talks 

Meetings of the Joint Technical Defense Committee of Sudan and Ethiopia were held in Addis Ababa (August 31 to September 2) at the levels of experts, Chiefs of Staff and Ministers of Defense.
In a Press statement, a Spokesman of the Sudan Armed Forces, Colonel Al-Sawarmi Khalid Saad, said that the committee was concerned with assessment of aspects of cooperation between the two countries, based on the Defense Protocol signed by Sudan and Ethiopia in May 2009 .He said defense cooperation between the two countries included conducting joint field patrols, exchanges of information, control fn armed opposition elements, and prevention of arms smuggling, human trafficking and illegal trade, in addition to cooperation on issues of training and peace-keeping .
Colonel Al-Sawarmi said that the two Ministers of Defense had endorsed outcome of the meeting of the Chiefs of Staff. The next meeting of the Joint Defense Technical Committee would be in February next year in Khartoum.
