Ethiopia: Addis to Construct 130 Thousand Houses in Two Years

Addis Ababa City Administration says it is set to work harder over the coming two years so as to better satisfy the socioeconomic needs of residents.
The Administration has reviewed its performance over the past couple of years and outlined directions to be pursued in the implementation of development plans over the coming two years.
Speaking on the occasion, City Mayor, Driba Kuma said the Administration will give precedence to job creation, housing development, manufacturing, execution capacity building and good governance activities, among others, over the stated period.
He said cognizant of the severe shortage of residential units in the city, the Administration has revised and updated its housing development plan to 130 thousand from 70 thousand envisioned in the GTP.
It is working tirelessly towards accomplishing the revised plan thereby addressing the housing needs of the city dwellers, he added.
