Djibouti: Kenyan and Ethiopian MPs Paid Working Visit to IGAD 

A delegation of Parliamentarians from Kenya and Ethiopia paid a working visit to the IGAD Secretariat in Djibouti this week. The delegation were welcomed by IGAD's Executive Secretary, Ambassador Mahboub Maalim who briefed them on the political, social and economic issues of the region. Prior to the meeting the delegation listened to presentations from IGAD staff members on the activities of the organization. Staff also answered questions from the MPs. During its stay in Djibouti the group will also meet with members of the Djibouti National Assembly. The delegation includes Elias Bare Shill, Chairman of the Kenyan Parliamentary Defence and Foreign Relations Committee , accompanied by MPs John Lodepe Nakara, Joseph Kiuna, Abass Sheikh Mohamed, Joseph Lekuton, Joyce Wanjalah Lay and Beatrice Nyaga, as well as Haji Mohamed Rashid, Deputy Speaker of Ethiopia's House of Federation and other officials.
