Mohamud commends Ethiopia's role in Somalia

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Tuesday (August 20th) praised Ethiopia's role in stabilising Somalia during a visit to Addis Ababa, which will soon host talks between the Somali government and Jubbaland regional administration leaders.

Speaking during a memorial service for the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi who died a year ago, Mohamud asked Ethiopia to assist Somalia in rebuilding its army, Somalia's Radio Dalsan reported.
"Building [the] Somali National Army will only be the best alternative to defeat the extremists and secure the country," he said.
Mohamud also met with delegation from Jubbaland who will participate in the talks, Somalia's Jowhar reported.
